THE HARVARD LAMPOON is one of the world's longest-running continuously-published humor magazines, founded in 1876 by seven undergraduates at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. In the early 1960s, the Lampoon's sensibility became an important expression of, & feeder system for, American college-student humor & comedy. THE HARVARD LAMPOON features parody and irreverent content: cartoons, comic strips, and short-written pieces, often parodies of national magazines such as Entertainment Weekly, Sports Illustrated, People, Time, Mademoiselle, Playboy, National Geographic, and others. The magazine's humor is especially anarchic, satirically pushing far beyond what is generally considered appropriate & acceptable. THE HARVARD LAMPOON publishes five issues annually.
